Launch Position

DeshiAI values informed participation, constructive disagreement, factual correction and meaningful reader contribution. A credible technology publication requires more than providing a comment box. It requires responsible moderation, safety controls, privacy safeguards, reporting mechanisms, consistent enforcement, appeal procedures and sufficient operational capacity to respond when problems arise.

For this reason, public comments are not enabled at DeshiAI’s public launch. The absence of comments does not mean that readers have no route to participate or hold the publication accountable. Readers may contact DeshiAI through appropriate channels for corrections, complaints, rights of reply, contributor proposals, accessibility feedback, privacy concerns, security reports and general editorial correspondence.

Current Status

At launch, public article comments are disabled, new comment submissions are not accepted, legacy comment forms or invitations are closed, comment counts do not indicate an active community where none exists, automated spam comments are not published and discussion does not take place through an unmoderated public forum. Any change to this position will be reflected on this page before public comments are enabled.

Why Comments Are Disabled

Comments can add specialist knowledge, factual corrections, local context, practical experience, constructive disagreement, additional sources and useful questions from readers. They can also introduce risks involving harassment, threats, hate, discrimination, doxxing, defamation, impersonation, spam, malware, manipulation, child safety, privacy violations, coordinated abuse, misinformation, non-consensual intimate material, extremist recruitment, commercial promotion and disclosure of confidential information.

DeshiAI will not present an unmoderated or inadequately controlled discussion space as responsible technology journalism or community engagement.

Available Reader Participation

Factual errors, article concerns and correction requests may be submitted through DeshiAI’s contact channel at contact@deshiai.in. Formal complaints, grievances and rights-of-reply requests may also be directed to contact@deshiai.in with the subject clearly identified. Contributor pitches, editorial questions, source information and interview proposals may be submitted through the same route. Accessibility concerns, privacy requests and good-faith security reports should likewise be clearly marked so they can be directed to the appropriate person internally. General enquiries may be sent to contact@deshiai.in.

Future Community Features

DeshiAI may consider moderated comments, reader questions, expert responses, letters to the editor, structured discussions, member forums, contributor communities, live discussions, surveys, reader panels, event participation or another appropriate form of reader engagement. No such feature will be introduced until DeshiAI has established responsible moderation, clear public rules, privacy information, retention practices, an age and child-safety approach, reporting tools, an appeal process, identity and impersonation controls, spam prevention, security safeguards, accessibility measures, legal review, emergency escalation procedures and sufficient operational capacity.

Community Principles

Where community features are introduced, participation will be guided by relevance, evidence, respect, accountability, privacy, safety, transparency and accessibility. Contributions should relate meaningfully to the article or discussion. Factual claims should be capable of support when reasonably challenged. Criticism of ideas, technologies, companies, institutions and public conduct is permitted, while threats, targeted abuse and dehumanizing attacks are not. Users must not impersonate others or deceptively conceal a commercial campaign. Private information must not be exposed. Community tools and reporting routes should remain reasonably accessible.

Permitted Disagreement

DeshiAI would not remove a contribution merely because it criticizes an article, criticizes DeshiAI, disagrees with an author, challenges a technology company, questions an institution, expresses an unpopular view, identifies a possible error, questions an advertiser, criticizes a product or challenges a political or scientific position. The publication distinguishes disagreement from harassment and does not use moderation to create the appearance of universal agreement with its reporting.

Prohibited Conduct

If public comments are introduced, prohibited conduct will include credible threats, encouragement of violence, targeted harassment, stalking, doxxing, disclosure of private addresses or identity documents, hate speech, dehumanizing attacks, sexual harassment, non-consensual intimate content, child exploitation, impersonation and fraudulent representation. It will also include malware, phishing, credential theft, spam, paid-link placement, undisclosed advertising, coordinated manipulation, false emergency information, instructions enabling serious unlawful harm, publication of passwords or private keys, exposure of confidential sources, repeated disruption, unlawful copyright infringement and other conduct creating unacceptable risk.

Personal Attacks, Hate and Discrimination

Criticism should address conduct, evidence, decisions, policies, arguments, public roles, products, organizations or documented behaviour. Attacks based on irrelevant personal characteristics, family members, appearance, disability, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation or another protected characteristic are not acceptable. A public figure may be criticized strongly, but threats, stalking and doxxing remain prohibited.

Community features are not intended to promote hatred, exclusion or violence against people based on protected or vulnerable characteristics. Reporting or discussing discriminatory language may be permitted where relevant and properly contextualized. Slurs should not be repeated merely to provoke, intimidate or target another person.

Threats and Violence

A contribution containing a credible or specific threat may be removed and escalated. DeshiAI may consider factors including immediacy, target, capability, location, context, repetition, weapons references, personal information and risk to children or vulnerable people. Relevant records may be preserved, and an appropriate authority may be contacted where legally required or reasonably necessary to protect life or safety. DeshiAI cannot guarantee emergency response.

Privacy and Doxxing

Users must not publish another person’s home address, personal telephone number, identity number, private email, financial-account details, health information, exact private location, children’s information, private photographs, workplace access details, login credentials, intimate information or confidential communications without a clear lawful and public-interest basis accepted by DeshiAI. Information may constitute doxxing even when individual elements were available elsewhere if combining them creates a foreseeable risk to the person concerned.

Children

Community participation involving children requires heightened safeguards. Before activating a feature likely to be used by children, DeshiAI will establish an appropriate age approach, privacy controls, guardian considerations, child-safety reporting, grooming prevention, advertising limits, profiling limits, data-retention practices, educational guidance, escalation procedures and responsible personnel. Children should not be encouraged to disclose personal contact details, school information, location, family information or private images publicly.

Self-Harm and Crisis Content

Community material involving suicide, self-harm or an immediate crisis will receive sensitive handling. DeshiAI may remove encouragement, graphic instructions, competitive or romanticized content, targeted coercion, method details creating foreseeable risk or material that exploits a vulnerable person. A person appearing to face immediate danger may be directed toward appropriate local emergency or professional support where possible. DeshiAI is not an emergency service.

Misinformation

Not every incorrect statement requires removal. Moderation may consider severity, available evidence, potential harm, public-health implications, election-related consequences, impersonation, coordinated behaviour, opportunities for correction, apparent intent and whether contextual information is sufficient. A disputed political, technological or scientific view is not removed merely because it is controversial. False practical information concerning voting, safety, health, cybersecurity or emergencies may require more urgent action.

Defamation and Allegations

Users must not use comments to publish unsupported allegations of criminality, fraud, abuse or other serious misconduct. A serious allegation may require removal or restriction, an evidence request, legal review, a right-of-reply process, referral to the editorial team or another appropriate reporting procedure. A comment thread is not a substitute for properly sourced and verified reporting.

Commercial and Political Manipulation

Community features are not intended for undisclosed advertising, backlink sales, affiliate promotion, recruitment schemes, repeated self-promotion, fake testimonials, reputation management, political astroturfing, paid endorsements, referral spam, deceptive fundraising or concealed client campaigns. A person with a material commercial interest should disclose that interest where the contribution is otherwise permitted.

Political disagreement and advocacy may be permitted where relevant. Users must not impersonate candidates or public figures, conceal paid campaigns, publish false voting instructions, coordinate harassment, threaten election workers, use synthetic media deceptively, suppress lawful participation or present paid political communication as ordinary independent reader opinion.

Coordinated Manipulation and Impersonation

Coordinated activity may involve multiple false identities, repeated identical comments, purchased engagement, organized harassment, hidden campaign control, bot activity, artificial consensus, reputation attacks or systematic link placement. DeshiAI may remove or restrict coordinated activity even where an individual message appears superficially acceptable, but it will not publicly accuse users of coordinated manipulation without sufficient evidence.

Users must not impersonate readers, authors, editors, journalists, companies, public authorities, political candidates, experts, sources, sponsors or DeshiAI. Parody or satire should be sufficiently clear that a reasonable person is unlikely to be deliberately deceived.

Links, Images and Attachments

Links may be removed where they lead to malware, phishing, unlawful content, deceptive services, personal data, non-consensual material, paid-link schemes, credential theft, extremist recruitment, spam, hidden advertising or another unsafe destination. A link will not be removed merely because it criticizes DeshiAI, a technology company, a product or an advertiser.

User uploads will not be enabled until secure storage, malware scanning, rights review, privacy protection, synthetic-media assessment, child-safety controls, moderation and retention systems are available. Images and attachments may be reviewed for file type, rights, personal information, intimate content, graphic material, location data, document metadata and relevance.

Moderation Model and Actions

Possible moderation models include pre-moderation, post-moderation, trusted-user moderation, limited-topic discussion, time-limited comments, expert-only responses, invite-only participation or no public comments. The selected model will be disclosed accurately. DeshiAI will not claim that every comment is reviewed before publication unless pre-moderation actually operates.

Moderation actions may include no action, warning, request for evidence, contextual labeling, limiting visibility, removal, thread closure, temporary restriction, permanent restriction, account suspension, link removal, record preservation, referral or safety escalation. Editing a user’s words will generally be avoided unless the process is transparent and the original meaning is preserved. Where appropriate, removal is preferable to silently rewriting a reader’s contribution.

Reasons and Appeals

Where practical and safe, a user will receive a concise explanation identifying the content, relevant rule, action, duration and available appeal route. An explanation may be limited where additional detail would expose security systems, another person’s privacy, a confidential report or an active investigation.

An appeal process will exist before public comments are activated. An appeal should identify the moderated content, action taken, reason the decision is believed to be incorrect, relevant context, supporting evidence and requested remedy. Where possible, appeals will receive fresh review. Repeated appeals without new grounds may be closed.

Reporting and Records

A future community system will provide accessible routes to report threats, harassment, hate, impersonation, privacy concerns, child-safety issues, spam, commercial promotion, misinformation, malware, copyright concerns, self-harm risk, synthetic deception and other material concerns. Reporters should not be required to provide unnecessary personal information.

DeshiAI may maintain proportionate records of content, user, report, action, applicable rule, reviewer, date, appeal, outcome, safety escalation and retention decision. Records will be protected and retained only for as long as reasonably necessary and legally appropriate.

User Privacy and External Platforms

If comments are introduced, DeshiAI will explain public profile information, IP and security logging, cookies, moderation records, retention practices, service providers, legal disclosures, deletion rights, archival treatment and the effect of account closure. Deleting an account may not automatically delete public comments where preservation is necessary and lawful, and the applicable treatment will be explained.

Discussion on external social platforms is also subject to the external platform’s own rules and privacy practices. DeshiAI may moderate or limit replies on its own external accounts where the platform provides such controls, but it cannot control every repost, quotation or discussion hosted elsewhere.

Letters, Questions, Surveys and Contests

DeshiAI may accept letters or structured reader responses while comments remain closed. Letters may be edited for length, clarity, accuracy, privacy, legal risk, relevance, abuse, duplication and disclosure. Identity and material interests may be verified proportionately, and publication of a letter does not make it an institutional position of DeshiAI.

Reader questions may inform explainers, interviews or future reporting, but submission does not guarantee a response, publication, confidentiality, attribution or agreement with the premise. Sensitive source information should not be submitted through an ordinary public question form.

Surveys should explain who conducts them, their purpose, information collected, representativeness, retention, publication, anonymity, incentives, sponsors and privacy practices. A self-selected reader survey should not be presented as representative of the general public without appropriate methodology. Any contest or giveaway requires separate rules addressing the organizer, eligibility, jurisdiction, entry period, prize, selection process, data use, sponsor and applicable law.

Consistency and Transparency

Moderation should be applied consistently across political perspectives, technology companies, advertisers, critics, supporters, public figures, ordinary users, contributors and DeshiAI itself. Consistency does not require identical treatment where severity, context and risk are different. An advertiser or sponsor does not receive special protection from lawful criticism.

If community functions are introduced, DeshiAI may publish or incorporate into its broader editorial transparency practices information about submissions, removals, restrictions, appeals, restored content, threats, privacy reports, spam, coordinated manipulation, child-safety issues, response times, policy changes and relevant limitations.

Activation Review

Before any public community feature is activated, DeshiAI will confirm that rules, moderation ownership, trained reviewers, coverage arrangements, reporting, appeals, privacy, cookie treatment, security, child safety, accessibility, retention, legal review, incident escalation, provider arrangements, backups and abuse testing are appropriately in place.

Contact

Corrections, complaints, rights-of-reply requests, contributor proposals, editorial questions, privacy concerns, accessibility issues, security reports and general enquiries may be submitted to contact@deshiai.in with a clear subject line identifying the nature of the request. DeshiAI may route specialist requests internally to the appropriate editorial, privacy, security or administrative contact.
