Purpose

DeshiAI separates independent editorial work from content or recommendations connected to payment, commission, sponsorship, commercial partnerships, products, services, access, hospitality, supplied information or another material benefit. Readers should not have to guess whether an article has a commercial connection. Where a relationship could reasonably affect how content is understood, DeshiAI discloses it clearly, prominently and early enough to prevent confusion with independent journalism.

This policy describes the commercial classifications used by DeshiAI and the disclosure practices that apply to each type of relationship.

Independent Editorial Content

Independent editorial content is selected, researched, written, reviewed and published according to DeshiAI’s editorial judgment. Companies, organizations, institutions and other sources may provide documents, interviews, technical information, demonstrations, access, responses or public records. Providing such material does not, by itself, turn an article into sponsored content.

Content is no longer fully independent when an interested party materially funds, commissions, controls, approves or otherwise determines its creation without an appropriate commercial classification and disclosure. Independent reporting may also require disclosure when a material relationship exists that could reasonably influence how readers assess the work.

Partner Content

Partner Content refers to material created through a disclosed arrangement with a commercial, institutional, research, distribution or event partner. The term Partner Content alone is not considered a sufficient explanation of the relationship. The disclosure identifies the partner, reason for the arrangement, funding or material support, production responsibility, information or access supplied, approval rights, distribution role and whether DeshiAI maintained independent editorial control.

A partner may provide expertise, data or resources, but the material should not be described as independent where the partner determined the principal message, argument or conclusion.

Press Releases

A Press Release is information supplied by an outside organization and published as that organization’s communication. It is labeled Press Release and identifies the organization responsible for providing it. It is not presented as independently reported journalism produced by DeshiAI. Basic formatting, grammar, spelling or technical corrections do not transform a press release into independent editorial reporting.

When DeshiAI conducts substantial independent reporting, verification and contextual work based on information contained in a release, the resulting article may be published separately under an appropriate editorial classification. The supplied communication and independently reported article should remain clearly distinguishable.

Affiliate Content

An affiliate relationship exists when DeshiAI may receive a commission, referral fee or other benefit after a reader clicks a link, registers, purchases, subscribes or completes another qualifying action. Pages containing material affiliate relationships disclose that connection prominently before or close to the first relevant affiliate link and in wording that remains understandable on mobile devices.

The disclosure explains that DeshiAI may earn a commission, whether the reader’s price is affected and that the merchant does not control factual conclusions, review standards or recommendations. A generic disclosure hidden only in a footer is not sufficient when the affiliate relationship is material to the page.

Affiliate Reviews and Recommendations

Affiliate arrangements do not determine the outcome of a review. Review standards are based on usefulness, relevance and other editorial considerations rather than the size of a potential commission. DeshiAI discloses material benefits such as free or loaned products, early access, trial accounts, software access, travel, event attendance, affiliate commissions, sponsorships, testing limitations and whether an item was returned, purchased, retained or donated where those facts are relevant.

A product or service is not recommended simply because its affiliate programme provides a commercial benefit to DeshiAI.

Supplied Material

Independent reporting may make use of information supplied by a company, institution or other organization. When that contribution is material, the article may explain that documents, datasets, interviews, demonstrations or technical information were supplied by the named organization and that DeshiAI assessed the material according to its sourcing and verification practices.

The disclosure may be expanded where the material was exclusive, the organization selected the evidence, a client relationship existed, independent verification was limited, payment was involved, wording was subject to approval or access significantly shaped the resulting article.

Access, Product, Travel and Hospitality

When an organization provides early access, demonstrations, review accounts, event admission or interview opportunities without direct payment, DeshiAI may disclose that access and state whether the provider had any right to review or approve the resulting article. An access arrangement can create a material relationship even when no money changes hands.

When a product or service is provided for review, the disclosure identifies whether it was loaned, returned, purchased, retained or donated where relevant and explains whether the provider had control over the conclusion. If an organization pays for or supplies travel, accommodation, meals, event attendance or another material benefit, the disclosure identifies who provided it, what was covered, whether DeshiAI paid any portion and whether the host had any review or approval rights.

Research Funding

Where reporting, research or analysis receives grant, institutional or other financial support, the disclosure identifies the funder, purpose of the support, whether the funder selected the subject, supplied data, reviewed the work or approved publication, and the extent of editorial control retained by DeshiAI. The disclosure should describe independence only to the extent supported by the actual arrangement.

Author Conflicts

Where an author has a material employment, consulting, investment, advisory, political, family, legal or other relationship connected to the subject, the relevant relationship and safeguard should be disclosed. Safeguards may include independent review, reassignment, recusal or co-authorship. Disclosure alone does not necessarily resolve every conflict. Some assignments may need to be transferred to another contributor or declined.

No Material Relationship Statements

A statement confirming the absence of a commercial relationship may be used when readers could reasonably suspect a connection and the statement is accurate. It may explain that DeshiAI received no payment, commission, equity, travel, product or other material benefit associated with the article. Such statements are used when useful and are not mechanically attached to every article.

Contributor and Agency Relationships

Contributors should disclose whether their material was prepared for an employer, client, agency, public-relations engagement, political campaign, reputation-management arrangement, sponsor, product provider, affiliate programme or another relationship involving present or expected payment. Client-funded material should not be presented as an ordinary independent guest contribution. Where material and lawful, the ultimate interested organization should be identified rather than only the intermediary or agency.

Influencers and Creators

Influencers, creators and public personalities should disclose relevant commercial connections, including payment, gifts, affiliate arrangements, ambassador roles, continuing brand relationships, free travel, complimentary products, equity, investments, employment, family interests and other material benefits. A disclosure made on another platform does not automatically satisfy the disclosure requirements for content published on DeshiAI.

Advertiser Review and Approval

Commercial material may be reviewed by an advertiser for agreed factual claims, legal wording and contractual requirements. The disclosure should accurately describe whether the advertiser supplied claims, selected the subject, reviewed the final text, approved only brand references, reviewed legal statements, controlled imagery, supplied data, selected interview participants or had no final approval authority. DeshiAI does not describe material as editorially independent where a sponsor had significant control over its conclusions.

Labels and Placement

DeshiAI uses Sponsored Content for paid commercial material, Partner Content for disclosed partnership material, Press Release for external organizational communications, Advertisement for direct commercial messages and Affiliate-supported where affiliate links are material to the content. These labels should not be replaced by ordinary editorial classifications such as News, Analysis or Investigation unless the article genuinely meets those standards through independent production and any relevant commercial relationship is separately disclosed.

Disclosures appear near the headline, before the principal commercial message, close to relevant affiliate links or endorsements, within a page where different sections have different relationships, and within video, audio, social or newsletter distribution where practicable. They should use accessible language and remain meaningful when content is shared. Disclosure should not depend solely on color, an icon or an unfamiliar abbreviation.

Video, Audio and External Promotion

Sponsored video and audio should identify the commercial relationship near the beginning where reasonably possible rather than relying only on closing credits. Spoken disclosures should be understandable, while visual disclosures should remain visible long enough to be read. Sponsored segments within longer programmes should be identified at appropriate points.

A sponsored article promoted through social platforms, email, messaging or notifications should retain a suitable commercial label. Promotional previews should not make paid content appear to be independent breaking news or editorial reporting. Advertisements placed within newsletters should remain visually and textually distinguishable from independent editorial recommendations.

Search and Link Integrity

Commercial relationships should never be hidden for the purpose of manipulating search systems. DeshiAI does not guarantee specific link attributes, permanent promotional anchor text, search ranking improvements, indexing, Google News inclusion, authority transfer or AI citation. Paid and affiliate links receive technical treatment appropriate to their commercial nature.

DeshiAI may remove, replace or qualify a link when payment was not properly disclosed, the destination changes, the destination becomes unsafe, the link loses relevance, the commercial relationship ends or the destination becomes deceptive.

Synthetic Testimonials and Media

Commercial content must not use fabricated customers, synthetic experts presented as genuine people, unauthorized cloned voices, AI-generated reviews represented as authentic, deceptive before-and-after imagery, synthetic public figures implying endorsement, fabricated documentary evidence, false product testing or manipulated screenshots. Synthetic illustrations that are permitted should be identified clearly where a reasonable reader could otherwise mistake them for authentic material.

Independent Coverage of Commercial Partners

DeshiAI may independently report on advertisers, sponsors, affiliate merchants and commercial partners. Where the relationship is material, it should be disclosed. A commercial relationship does not shield a partner from criticism. Independent coverage may include negative findings, outside sources, investigations, challenges to sponsor claims or conclusions that are unfavorable to the commercial partner.

Corrections and Enforcement

A missing or inadequate commercial disclosure is treated as a significant publication issue. Corrective measures may include adding an immediate label, expanding the disclosure, reclassifying the material, publishing a correction note, changing link treatment, updating an author profile, identifying the sponsor, removing misleading claims of independence, suspending the content, retracting material or ending the commercial relationship. Where undisclosed commercial influence materially shaped the article, adding a disclosure alone may not adequately resolve the issue.

DeshiAI may maintain an internal record of sponsors, advertisers, affiliate programmes, agencies, ultimate clients, affected pages, payments, benefits, links, approval rights, disclosure language, publication periods, corrections and responsible approvers. Material patterns, totals or significant failures may be addressed through appropriate editorial transparency reporting.
