Write for DeshiAI

DeshiAI welcomes selected contributions from independent writers, researchers, technology professionals, developers, students, creators, analysts and informed practitioners who can bring original reporting, useful technical knowledge, credible evidence or a thoughtful perspective to our readers. The contributor programme is designed to expand practical expertise, regional understanding and informed discussion around technology and digital change. It is not intended to operate as a paid-backlink marketplace, automated publishing channel, reputation-management service or replacement for clearly identified advertising.

Every contribution is considered in accordance with DeshiAI’s editorial standards, contributor requirements, fact-checking practices, source and citation expectations, conflict-of-interest rules and other applicable public policies.

Editorial Subjects

DeshiAI is interested in work covering artificial intelligence, emerging technology, software and applications, cybersecurity, data and privacy, automation, digital infrastructure, developer tools, startups and entrepreneurship, business technology, education and learning, digital culture, media and the internet, science and innovation, responsible technology, governance and technology policy, the Indian technology ecosystem, and other subjects where technology has meaningful public or practical relevance.

A useful proposal should go beyond identifying a popular subject. It should establish the question being explored, the main idea or finding, the evidence behind it and why the proposed article is appropriate for DeshiAI’s audience.

Suitable Formats

DeshiAI considers timely News Analysis that explains a verified development and its practical implications; Explainers that make a technology, system, policy, product category or complex issue understandable; Reported Essays that combine interviews, observation or original research with analysis; and Evidence-Based Opinion that presents a clearly identified viewpoint supported by accurate information. It also considers Interviews with people offering relevant expertise or firsthand experience, Case Studies examining a particular company, project, product, community or implementation while acknowledging limitations, Technical Analysis covering software, AI systems, security, data, platforms or scientific developments, and Reviews based on transparent criteria with relevant access, sponsorship and commercial relationships disclosed.

Pitch First

Unless DeshiAI specifically requests a complete article, contributors should begin with a focused pitch sent to contributors@deshiai.in. The pitch should include the proposed headline, article format, central question or thesis, why the topic is relevant now, what the contributor will add beyond existing coverage, likely sources or evidence, applicable geography or jurisdiction, expected word count, estimated delivery date, relevant author experience, previous or simultaneous publication, material conflicts, commercial relationships, significant AI or automated-tool use and any planned image or multimedia material.

The proposal should be explained in the email itself rather than submitted only as an unexplained attachment. Sending a pitch does not mean that DeshiAI has agreed to commission or publish the proposed work.

Editorial Fit

A proposal is more likely to receive consideration when it has a clear connection to DeshiAI’s technology-focused audience, addresses a specific question, contributes something original, relies on dependable evidence, avoids generic observations, distinguishes established facts from uncertainty, includes appropriate regional context, has a credible reporting or research plan, discloses relevant conflicts and can be properly edited and verified.

A proposal is less suitable when it consists primarily of a company announcement, generic productivity or motivational advice, surface-level trend commentary, keyword-focused writing, unsupported forecasts, personal promotion, reputation management, direct product selling, link-placement requests or automated content that provides little original research or reporting.

Material DeshiAI Does Not Accept

DeshiAI does not accept plagiarism, fabricated reporting, misleading author identities, undisclosed ghostwriting, mass-produced AI articles, spun or lightly reworked content, copied listicles, keyword-stuffed submissions, disguised advertising, paid editorial backlinks, reputation-management articles presented as independent journalism, undisclosed client work, fabricated testimonials or experts, deceptive investment promotion, unlawful or unsafe material, non-consensual intimate content, malicious technical instructions, impersonation, coordinated harassment, content primarily created to manipulate search rankings or material that cannot be responsibly checked.

DeshiAI may also decline material that is lawful but falls outside its editorial purpose, quality requirements or available editorial capacity.

Identity and Biography

Contributors should provide their real name, proposed public byline, current role, relevant experience, contact information, material professional affiliations and an accurate biography. DeshiAI may request proportionate identity verification when an article involves serious allegations, professional qualifications, institutional representation, payment, significant legal risk, security-sensitive information or material conflicts. Identity documents should not be submitted unless specifically requested through an appropriate channel.

A contributor must not claim to speak for a company, institution or organization without authorization. A contributor may request a pseudonym where publication of their identity presents a credible safety concern, but pseudonyms cannot be used to conceal sponsorship, client relationships, plagiarism or normal professional accountability.

Originality and Publication History

Submitted work should be original unless DeshiAI has agreed to republication, adaptation, syndication or translation. Contributors must disclose whether the material has previously appeared elsewhere, was published in another language, is derived from a report, research paper or thesis, was commissioned by another party, substantially overlaps with another submission, is being considered by another publication or contains previously published material.

DeshiAI may conduct originality checks, compare submitted material with existing publications and review the underlying sources. Automated similarity or plagiarism scores are considered evidence for review, not a substitute for editorial judgment.

Evidence and Sources

Important factual claims should be supported by reliable evidence. Contributors should provide direct links, documents, datasets, recordings or other source information where available. Research-intensive articles should be capable of supporting a Sources and Methodology section covering key evidence, research and selection methods, interviews, calculations, datasets, technical testing, relevant jurisdictions, requests for comment, interested-party information and material limitations.

Sources should substantiate the specific statement being made. A general website homepage is not an adequate substitute when a direct report, dataset, filing or document is available. Multiple websites repeating the same underlying claim do not necessarily constitute independent confirmation.

Interviews and Quotations

Contributors should retain interview notes or recordings where lawful and appropriate. Quotations must accurately represent what was said or provided. Contributors should identify whether an interview was recorded, translated, supplied in writing, edited for clarity or length, conducted anonymously or subject to limited factual review. A contributor should not promise anonymity to a significant source without appropriate editorial approval.

Right of Reply

Contributors preparing serious criticism or allegations should support a fair right-of-reply process. They may be asked to provide the specific allegations, supporting evidence, contact information for the affected person or organization, a reasonable response deadline, relevant source-protection concerns and records of previous communication.

A response may lead to additional reporting, clarification or changes to the article. Failure to receive a response does not automatically prevent publication, but reasonable efforts should be made to provide affected parties with a fair opportunity to respond.

Conflicts and Commercial Relationships

Contributors must disclose material relationships with the company, founder, product, service, institution, employer, client, investor, competitor, advocacy organization, litigation party, family member, close associate or other interested party discussed in the article. They should also disclose relevant payment, promised compensation, gifts, travel, accommodation, product access, affiliate income, sponsorship, consulting arrangements, employment, ownership, tokens, advisory roles, political or institutional positions, litigation, early-access arrangements, agency relationships or expected future benefits.

Disclosure does not guarantee publication. Depending on the circumstances, a conflict may require a public disclosure note, independent review, change in format, reassignment or rejection.

Commercial Submissions

Paid, sponsored, partner-funded, client-funded, affiliate-driven and reputation-management proposals should not be submitted through the ordinary guest-contribution route. Commercial enquiries should be sent to advertising@deshiai.in. A commercial proposal should identify the commissioning organization, agency where applicable, ultimate client, intended claims, proposed format, commercial terms, preferred publication date, requested links, approval requirements, production responsibilities and required disclosure.

Acceptance of a commercial proposal does not guarantee independent editorial coverage.

Backlinks and Link Placement

DeshiAI does not sell undisclosed editorial links. Contributors may recommend links that genuinely support an article, but the final decision on links rests with the editor. DeshiAI may remove a link, substitute a stronger or more authoritative source, modify anchor text, apply an appropriate commercial attribute, remove tracking parameters, reject an unsafe destination or take action against an article when the underlying link relationship was concealed.

Payments tied to a particular link attribute, commercial keyword-anchor demands, irrelevant promotional links, concealed affiliate links, misleading destinations, post-publication destination changes, undisclosed agency placements and articles purchased mainly to influence search rankings are not permitted.

Artificial Intelligence

Significant use of AI or automated systems must be disclosed. Contributors should state whether such tools were used for research assistance, drafting, rewriting, translation, transcription, programming, data analysis, image generation, image editing, audio, video, source discovery or citation generation. AI-produced citations, quotations, statistics and factual claims must be independently verified by the contributor.

DeshiAI does not accept fictional AI authors, unchecked machine-generated reporting, synthetic interviews, invented case studies, generic bulk-produced articles, undisclosed synthetic media or work that the named author cannot explain, verify and take responsibility for.

Images and Rights

Contributors should not submit images casually copied from websites or social platforms. For each supplied image or multimedia asset, contributors should provide the creator, original source, rights or permission basis, required credit, people depicted where relevant, date, location, edits, synthetic or AI-generated status, caption information, alternative-text details and applicable restrictions.

DeshiAI may choose another image, create or source suitable artwork, or publish the article without the submitted material. Having access to a digital file does not by itself establish permission to publish it.

Length and Style

Article length should reflect the subject and purpose. Short analysis may generally fall around 700 to 1,000 words, standard analysis or explainers around 1,000 to 1,800 words, reported essays around 1,500 to 2,500 words, while deeply researched technical or investigative work may be longer when the evidence requires it. These ranges are editorial guidance rather than fixed guarantees. Contributors should not add repetition simply to reach a target length.

DeshiAI favors writing that is clear, practical, accurate, evidence-led, original and accessible to readers with different levels of technical knowledge. Strong submissions explain technical terms when necessary, distinguish facts from interpretation, acknowledge meaningful uncertainty and avoid unnecessary promotion. Unsupported superlatives, padded introductions, repetitive conclusions, manufactured urgency, generic motivational language, unexplained jargon, excessive abbreviations, marketing slogans presented as analysis, dehumanizing language and unjustified certainty should be avoided.

Editorial Process

A contribution may move through pitch review, identity and conflict checks, commissioning, research or drafting, evidence review, structural editing, fact-checking, right of reply, specialist or legal review, copyediting, headline and metadata review, disclosure review, final page review, publication and post-publication monitoring. Not every submission requires every stage, and editorial review may stop at any point if the work no longer satisfies the applicable standards.

DeshiAI may edit the headline, structure, wording, length, factual claims, attribution, sources, links, disclosures, legal language, images, captions, metadata, classification and contributor biography. Where reasonably possible, material changes to the central argument will be discussed with the contributor. The contributor does not have final control over the headline, publication date, editorial classification or correction process.

Payment and Rights

Unsolicited guest submissions should not be assumed to be paid. Payment applies only where DeshiAI has issued or accepted a written commissioning agreement that clearly specifies the fee and applicable conditions. No outside agent or unofficial representative is authorized to charge contributors in exchange for guaranteed independent publication. Sponsored content and commercial services are handled through the appropriate disclosed commercial process.

Unless a separate written agreement provides otherwise, the contributor retains underlying copyright and grants DeshiAI a non-exclusive license to edit, publish, archive, display, distribute, promote, correct, technically adapt, excerpt, include in newsletters and share through its social channels. Exclusivity, translation, syndication, payment and republication arrangements are agreed separately where applicable.

Timing and Post-Publication Responsibility

DeshiAI does not guarantee publication by a contributor’s requested date. Timing can depend on verification, editing, right of reply, legal or specialist review, relevance, security considerations, editorial capacity, evidence quality and technical readiness. Commercial or launch deadlines do not override editorial safeguards.

Following publication, contributors should remain reasonably available for questions about sources, facts, quotations, conflicts, image rights, corrections, complaints and substantive updates. DeshiAI may correct, clarify, update, reclassify, restrict, retract or remove material in accordance with its applicable editorial policies. Contributors should not republish a corrected article in a form that knowingly preserves material inaccuracies.

No Performance Guarantee

Publication does not guarantee homepage placement, newsletter inclusion, social promotion, traffic, search ranking, indexing, Google News inclusion, syndication, backlink value, commercial results or citation by an AI system. Editorial publication should not be treated as a search-performance or marketing contract.

Submission Route

Pitches may be sent to contributors@deshiai.in. Commercial proposals may be sent to advertising@deshiai.in. Security-sensitive source material should not be included in an ordinary pitch; contributors should first contact editorial@deshiai.in to discuss an appropriate submission route.
